Cut Senators and Reps Salary by half- Emir Sanusi Tells President Buhari

Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to push for a review of the salaries of National Assembly members and ministers by half with a view to creating more jobs for Nigeria’s unemployed youths.

According to Emir Sanusi, a senator earns ₦36m monthly, while a member of the House of Representatives rakes in ₦25m, and he argued that if the salary of every federal lawmaker gets split in two, it would go a long way in providing more jobs for 70,400 jobless Nigerians at between ₦90,000 and ₦92,500 monthly salary.
